Meet the Maker: Sydney Hale Co.
A warm (and furry) welcome to Sydney Hale Co.!
I discovered Sydney Hale Co. during a trip to Jackson Hole a couple years ago (when we could travel!).
The scents of the candles and room sprays are wonderful – woodsy, bright, and natural.
The scent compositions are unique, with a twist on some of the traditional home fragrances / scents.
The candles are two-wick, giving them a brighter glow (and more even burn).
The room sprays, hand lotions and hand washes are equally lovely.
The packaging is on point...simple, minimal, and classic.
But…It is the mission behind the brand that captured my attention (and heart)!
5 of the 6! Not even staged! This is what happens when you put out a fresh bed in a home of pets.
For those that do not know me, I love, love, love animals. Always have, even as a child. We had countless birds, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, snakes…you name it. Fast forward to now. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Inside. And I’m embarrassed to admit how many outdoor kitties call our garage their home. (Don’t worry, I have trapped and spayed/neutered all of them!)
You see, Sydney Hale has a love for animals, too. They support animal rescue by donating 10% of their profits to organizations working for the cause. 🙏🏻❤️
We had wanted to bring the brand to SCOUT back in late 2019/early 2020. And then the pandemic hit and we obviously put everything on hold.
But finally...Sydney Hale is here!
Sydney Hale Co. was established in Northern Virginia in 2008 and is now formulating and hand producing all of their products in the Manchester neighborhood of Richmond, VA. In addition to their support of animal rescue organizations, their objective has always been to formulate beautiful products of the highest quality here in the USA and to reduce the stress on landfills through their choice of packaging materials.
They’ve checked all of our boxes:

☑️producing high quality products in an ethical manner
☑️caring about our planet.

These are premium soy wax blend candles with double cotton wicks. They have an approximate burn time of 50 hours and are 14 oz (397 g) in size. Read more about why we love them here.
Scents:
Aloeswood: A fragrant resinous wood with notes of vanilla, musk, cedar, incense + black pepper.
Bourbon + Brown Sugar: An ode to the American spirit. Rich, molasses-saturated sugar cane and charred double-oaked bourbon. Straight up.
Fig + Vanilla: A mellow and earthy black fig accord, a touch of anise, and bourbon vanilla are rounded out by sandalwood and musk.
Agave + Honeysuckle: Nectar from the blue agave with a milky honeysuckle floral.
Applewood + Birch: With a rich cognac base, this fragrance brings autumn to its knees. It was created out of a desire for a more sophisticated autumn blend.
Coastal Juniper: Inhale the Pacific Northwest with notes of wild berry, beach grass, and cedar on a heavy ground-coated sun-soaked juniper base.
Coriander + Mandarin: Crushed coriander seeds and their warm, woody, pepper notes, mingle with the brightness of mandarin, subtle peach & earthy-sweet iris.
Cypress + Casis: Spicy evergreen Monterey cypress and piquant black currant berries warmed with amber, vanilla, sandalwood + musk.
Fir + Blue Sage: A balsam favorite from our original collection. Vibrant grapefruit and crisp fir needles take the lead with a nice hearty base of wild sage.
Oaked Bitter Orange: Charred oak and patchouli add great depth to this bold and bitter citrus fruit.
